Nelson Fonseca is President of Terremark Worldwide Inc., a subsidiary of Verizon Communications Inc. Fonseca is responsible for leading the Terremark team as it accelerates the execution of Verizon’s cloud strategy by leveraging the assets and channels of Verizon, along with the innovation and IT solutions excellence of Terremark.

Prior to assuming leadership of Terremark, Fonseca served as chief operating officer, responsible for the day-to-day operations across the Company’s business units, including driving operational efficiencies and service execution excellence. Prior to that, Fonseca was President of Terremark’s U.S. Public Sector Business Unit. His specific duties included the oversight of Terremark Federal Group, the management of Terremark’s State and Local government initiatives and the NAP of the Capital Region campus in Culpeper, Virginia.  His previous roles included Senior Vice President of Sales for Terremark Federal Group and Vice President of Sales for Terremark Worldwide.

Before joining Terremark, Fonseca held various positions at Telcordia Technologies and Nortel Networks.  His responsibilities included business development, product management and systems engineering in support of both domestic and international clients.

Fonseca received his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Barry University and his Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
